The World of Magic

In the beginning the world was once a much more magical place. Chief among these creatures were Ancients, beings f magic that surpassed any form of magic that existed. Their magic was great, and their powers greater still. However, this power came with a price. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and it proved accurate in their case. Rather than be satisfied with their powers, they tried to enslave all other species. Their power slowly corrupted them, turning them into monstrosities.

What the result of this was became ultimately a showdown. The Ancients and their magical armies fought against the other species in a last stand. The Ancients nearly won the fight, but were ultimately led into a trap. The base they tried to take had been the trigger and it activated moment everyone but the Ancients were out. The City they took disappeared with them in it. Some believe it sank within the ground, some believe they were banished to a plane of existence. Few now can offer more than speculation. All that was left at that time was a seal symbol which nothing could grow over.

Things passed over the years, but then someone tried to free the Ancients. A greedy mortal seeking power, and much power the Ancients had. Very nearly were they freed. Indeed, the initial Ancients began to come out in the form of a massive one's claw extending out. Eventually it was stopped and the seal put back in place. This time every document was believed destroyed, until there were no more in existence. Shortly after, the seal was not findable, and a school was built either at or near it.

Now, this story is mere myth. People have no idea. But a demon named Rosalinda has decided to try and free them. She has some documents that survived, she knows what precautions were taken, and she plans to free the and usher in the power of the Ancients back to this world. She has spent years if not decades or centuries gaining her forces and influence and spreading it. One thing is clear though. She must be stopped.
